Soft Relic Society is a monthly mail subscription devoted to words, cloth, and the strange little objects we carry with us.
Each month centres around a single word. You’ll receive a one-of-a-kind piece of vintage or found fabric, hand embroidered with that month’s word, alongside a letter exploring its meaning, history, feeling, and whatever else it seems to hold.
Every relic is made by hand, so no two will ever be exactly alike. Fabrics will vary in colour, texture, age, pattern, and origin — sourced slowly from thrift stores, forgotten linens, old doilies, and other pieces that deserve another life.
Your relic and letter arrive tucked together in an olive envelope, addressed to you and sealed as a small piece of mail worth opening slowly.
Keep it in a journal. Pin it to a wall. Frame it. Sew it onto something. Tuck it into a drawer and find it again years from now.
There are no rules for keeping a relic.

Subscribe anytime during the month to receive the following month’s relic. For example, if you join anytime in October, your first relic will be the November Relic. Relics are mailed by the 7th.

Each month, you’ll receive one hand-embroidered textile relic centered around the Society’s word of the month, along with a collectible letter exploring the thoughts, stories, observations, and curiosities gathered around it. This will all come in a beautifully custom stamped & wax sealed 6 x 9 envelope.

Yes! Simply enter the recipient's mailing address instead of your own at checkout, and they will recieve a monthly gift <3

Yes and no! Every member receives the same word each month, but every relic is individually embroidered by hand using found and vintage textiles. Variations in fabric, colour, texture, shape, and stitching mean no two relics will ever be exactly alike.

You’ll be charged on the day you first subscribe and on that same date each month thereafter. Because billing and mailing operate on different cycles, you may occasionally see your next charge before your previous relic arrives. Each payment always corresponds to one monthly relic.

Soft Relic Society ships worldwide (for free)! Relics travel by mail from Canada, so delivery times will vary depending on where in the world you live.

Of course. Monthly memberships can be cancelled at any time before your next billing date to prevent the next renewal. If you’ve already been charged for a relic, that relic will still be made and sent to you.
Annual memberships are prepaid for the full year and are non-refundable once purchased. You can cancel your annual membership at any time to prevent it from renewing for another year, and you’ll continue receiving your remaining monthly relics through the end of your prepaid membership.

Every relic is made by hand and sent with lots of care, but occasionally mail has adventures of its own. If your relic arrives damaged or seems to have gotten lost along the way, please get in touch and I’ll do my best to make it right.
